Distinguished colleagues,

It is both an honor and a profound responsibility to be the President of the Indian Society for the Study of Pain. Pain management is a superspecialty that can transform lives, yet too many who need us never find us. Young professionals are the future of our field, yet too often they feel like outsiders in their own professional societies.

We together will change both of these realities.

The Awareness Gap

How many times have we heard patients say, “I didn’t know there were doctors who specialize in pain”? How often do people suffer for years, visiting multiple specialists, trying countless remedies, when a trained pain physician could have helped them from the beginning?

Too many Indians suffer in silence simply because they don’t know we exist.

Our Digital Solution

We plan to launch a public-facing ISSP website with an AI-powered chatbot that will answer common questions in multiple languages: What is pain management? When should I see a pain specialist? Where can I find one near me?

This technology will provide 24/7 access to evidence-based information, breaking down barriers of misinformation and connecting patients with our specialists.

Empowering Our Youth

I am committed to transforming the Indian Society for the Study of Pain into a truly youth-centric organization.

To our young members: you are not just the future—you are the present. We need your energy, innovation, and digital expertise now. To our young colleagues: step forward boldly with your ideas and creativity.

To everyone: let us ensure that no patient suffers because they didn’t know we exist, and no young doctor feels excluded from our community.

Together, we will build an ISSP that is scientifically rigorous, technologically forward, genuinely inclusive, and impactful in ways that matter to real people suffering from pain.

Thank you for your trust and dedication respected members together we will light up the path of success.

Long live ISSP

With Best Wishes,
